Simple chords in E-Minor provide the bed for the coarse staccato synths which stab away in the verse. In the chorus they lift an octave and play a hook which is underpinned by an urban styled beat with triplet snare fills ending each phrase. The bridge is another departure altogether, providing great contrast for the whole track, a real mixture of light and shade.
